DSoundTool has been tested on Windows 7, Windows XP, and Ubuntu 11.04. However, it should work on most operating systems (Windows, Linux, MAC) as long as Java web start has been installed. At least 256 MB RAM is required.
DSoundTool requires Java 1.6 in order to work.
For the first time, DSoundTool is started using a web browser like Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, etc. Your computer must have Java Web Start enabled, and JavaScript must be enabled in the web browser. Go to
http://www.shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/download.html
and click on the Launch button.
If necessary, Java 1.6 will be automatically downloaded. A dialog will appear that asks if you want to install DSoundTool by Shortest Path AB. Then DSoundTool is started.
There are three ways to start DSoundTool subsequent times.
The easiest way is to create a short cut for DSoundTool using the Java web start viewer. Windows users can create a shortcut by pressing the ”Windows” button + ”R”
then type
javaws -viewer
The following window appears
Now you can right-click on the DSoundTool item and select ”Create short-cut”. The shortcut will be put on the desktop.
Alternatively you can start DSoundTool directly from the Java web start viewer shown above.
You can always start DSoundTool as described in the installation instructions, from http://www.shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/download.html
If you do not have Java Web Start enabled, you can also download directly the zip file from the download page.
